on the shelves - 17 months

Here are a few of Elise's favorite activities this month:

1.  rolling shape sorter (Wonderworld)
2.  opening and closing boxes
3.  pushing chips through a slot (a variation on E's first "bank")
4.  a basket of winter woolies (similar to our much loved basket of hats)
5.  hanging ornaments on a child-sized tree
6.  whistle and harmonica for jamming out by the Christmas tree ;)

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

    1. Yes, the harmonica has been a big hit! Do you do any music activities with your girls? I wish I was more musical - Elise and I sound about the same on the few instruments that we have - actually, she may already sound better than me on the harmonica! :)

  2. I am always looking for trays and I have never thought to use the silver/pewter bread trays I have before seeing this picture here. Thanks for the idea!

    1. Me too! I'm also always on the lookout for baskets. They really do make activities more appealing and organized!

  4. Hello! I'm new to your site...thanks for all the great inspiration. Quick question...what did you use to cut the slot for E's bank? Your input would be much appreciated! Thanks and keep up the great work.

    1. Hi Reena! To made Elise's bank, I traced the metal canning jar lid onto thin cardboard - cracker box - and cut it out. I also traced the lid onto a piece of wrapping paper, and glued it to the cardboard circle to make it pretty. ;) Then, I used a razor blade/x-acto knife to cut a slit the size of a poker chip. I put the cardboard circle onto the jar, and then twisted on the canning jar ring - I didn't use the metal canning jar lid at all. Gosh! That was harder to explain then I thought! Ha! Hope it makes sense!
