spooky spooning

What's spookier than a bowlful of spiders?!
A bowlful of hidden spiders, of course!!!!

EEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!

This past week, Elise has enjoyed using her wire strainer
to sift plastic spiders out of a bowl of red lentils.

If you don't have a wire strainer, try using a slotted spoon or just your hands.

It's quite thrilling to sink your fingers right into the lentils, and feel around for the spiders...
that is - if you dare!!!!!

Happy weekend, friends!

  1. Great fun! That reminds me of a similar activity in one of our "Nature tots" sessions. The children had to search for plastic bugs in a bucket of water beads (with their hands)! I had never felt anything like it before and most children were glued to that activity the whole morning. Have you and Elise tried water beads?

Also, would you be interested in writing a guest post for Grow grow grow? http://3grow.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/looking-for-guest-posts.html

    1. Hi Elsa! No, we haven't tried water beads yet - love the idea of digging though them for bugs! Also, I saw your post yesterday, and am thinking about sending you something. Sounds like a fun trip! I'll let you know if I come up with a good idea for a guest post...
